Lighting supplier, Nemak has announced VP, Napoleón Cantú has decided to leave the company "to pursue other professional opportunities."

Ramiro Montero will now assume the position of VP Manufacturing and Product Development reporting to the CEO. He has more than 17 years of experience in manufacturing and product development areas of Nemak's global operations, most recently serving as head of purchasing and smelting centre operations in Mexico.

The changes will be effective 1 September 2017.

Montero earned a bachelor's and master's degree from Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Nemak specialises in the production of complex aluminum components for the automotive industry such as cylinder heads, engine blocks, transmission parts, and structural components.

The company employs more than 23,000 people at 38 facilities worldwide and generated annual revenues of US$4.3bn last year.

Earlier this year, Nemak opened a new high-pressure die casting (HPDC) plant located in Monterrey, Mexico.

The new plant's HPDC technology will support the production of aluminium automotive components, primarily engine blocks, transmission cases and structural components.

Additionally, the plant will feature a machining centre for processing the components.
