Mitsubishi Motors has previewed a new mono-box minivan called the Delica D:5 that it will launch in Japan market early in 2007.

This is the third of three new model launches planned for fiscal year 2006 in the automaker's home market. It has already launched the eK Wagon and eK Sports last September, and the new Pajero (Shogun) last month.

According to Mitsubishi, the Delica D:5 has been developed to "fuse the comfort of a minivan with the powerful performance of an SUV," in a new model with a spacious interior that can seat eight in comfort, with a wide variety of utility features, a strong body structure with comprehensive safety fittings and great environmental performance and strong performance, on-road and off-road, thanks to a 2.4L MIVEC engine mated to an electronically controlled 4WD system.
