Fiat Auto has come up with a Lancia derivative of the Fiat Idea. The new five-seat 'compact MPV' (small minivan), called the Musa, shares the Idea's basic styling and dashboard with centre-mounted instruments but gets its own nose and tail detailing and more lavish interior trim.

It's just under four metres long, 1.7 metres wide and 1.66 metres high.

Available engines are 100 bhp 1.9 Multijet turbodiesel, 70 bhp 1.3 Multijet turbodiesel and 95 bhp petrol 1.4; the 1.3 and 1.4 motors can be combined with a DFN ('Dolce Far Niente' or automated manual) gearbox.

The Musa slots into the Lancia range between the Ypsilon supermini and Phedra family-size sedan.
