The Korea Herald reports that Kia Motors has rolled out a wholly redesigned model of its Carens minivan/MPV and that shipments to Europe will start in April.

The Carens II will be fitted with a diesel engine in a bid to increase penetration of the European market.

The Herald says that at the official launching ceremony company president and chief executive Kim Noi-myong stated that Kia will export over 40,000 units of the new minivan to Europe, Latin America and Africa annually.

He also said that Kia aims to sell about 70,000 units of the Carens II in the Korean market annually.
