Jaguar sold 201 vehicles in Brazil last year, a rise of 5.8 percent over the 190 units sold in 2000, writes Rogerio Louro Alves.

The S-Type was the best-selling Jaguar with 127 sold in 2001. For 2002, Jaguar expects large growth in Brazil. "We expect to sell about 400 vehicles in 2002," said Jaguar do Brasil president Stephen Gitter.

Jaguar expects the X-Type, launched in October 2001, to be its top-selling model in 2002 with around 250 sales.
