InfoMove, the leading provider of personalized, location-based applications and wireless services for automobiles, today announced an agreement to implement applications based on Microsoft Car.NET framework.

At Convergence 2000 (Oct. 16-18, Cobo Center, Detroit, Mich.), InfoMove's applications will be showcased using the Microsoft telematics server platform and in-vehicle client platforms powered by the Microsoft Windows CE for Automotive operating system and related hardware.

"This agreement with Microsoft enables consumers to see how personalized, location-based information can create a safe, dynamic experience in the car," said Peter Holland, president and CEO of InfoMove. "We are excited about the opportunity to partner with Microsoft in demonstrating the beneficial impacts of the Car.NET framework on the future of in-vehicle telematics."

InfoMove's wireless-based services deliver personalized real-time, location-specific Internet content into the car through palm-sized, handheld PC devices, Internet-enabled cell phones and in-dash systems. "InfoMove's location-based solutions fit well into our initiative to use Microsoft Car.NET infrastructure technology for the automobile," said Bob McKenzie, General Manager for Microsoft, Automotive Business Unit. "The Microsoft Car.NET initiative creates an advanced new generation of software that melds computing and communications in a revolutionary way for the automotive market and offers every technology provider the tools they need to bring the Internet to the automobile in a safe and secure manner."

InfoMove has developed strategic relationships with industry-leading organizations to create this unique platform that integrates location, wireless and Internet technologies. InfoMove will offer its service to Internet portals, hardware manufacturers, automotive companies and other organizations as private-label and co-branded solutions.
