Hyundai has released first photos of the redesigned C segment i30, built for Europe in the Czech Republic, ahead of the world debut at the Frankfurt show.

The outgoing i30, launched in July 2007, has racked up about 350,000 sales up to mid-2011.

The new car was designed and engineered at the automaker's technical centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany with styling in line with the recently launched D segment i40.

Hyundai gave no powertrain details but the outgoing model was offered with 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines and manual or automatic transmissions and in five-door hatchback and wagon body styles. UK magazines expect Hyundai to offer a turbocharged 1.6 petrol engine and twin clutch automatic transmission this time around.
