General Motors signed an agreement with Sichuan Southwest Automobile Trading on Monday (4/12/00) giving them the right to sell imported GM cars in Western China, says Xinhua News Service (5/12/00).

Quoting the director of GM China, George Green, Xinhua reported that GM sees great market potential in the Western regions and has decided to ship more products to the area.

Sichuan Auto Trading is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the China Hauxing Automobile Trading Corporation.
