According to Reuters, General Motors on Friday said it had promoted Adam Opel chief financial officer Walter Borst to treasurer, replacing Eric Feldstein, 43, who was last month made president of GM's credit arm, General Motors Acceptance Corporation.

Reuters said Borst, who has been Opel's CFO since October 2000, would remain at Opel in Germany until January 31 and added that GM did not immediately name a replacement.
