General Motors (NYSE: GM) took the wraps off its 2001 model lineup today with a display of vehicles, technologies, powertrains and e-communication devices that underscore its position as the world's leading automaker. In the first-ever event of its kind, GM's seven marketing divisions operating in North America -- Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac-GMC, Saab and Saturn -- combined resources to give the nation's media an all-encompassing, comprehensive look at GM's '01 product lineup. In all, more than 40 new vehicles, 14 display properties, 10 seminars and three ride-and-handling demonstrations were presented.
