General Motors (NYSE:) today announced that its June vehicle sales decreased 5 percent to 472,078 units. Car sales declined two percent to 252,601 units and truck sales were off eight percent to 219,477 units. The Buick, GMC, Saturn and Saab Divisions posted sales gains for the month. GM's June car sales outpaced truck sales for the first time this year. Sales in the core midsize segment rose seven percent with strong showings by the Chevrolet Malibu, up five percent; Oldsmobile Alero, up 25 percent; and the Chevrolet Impala had its best June sales in 15 years.
