Adt takes over Smart in September

Katrin Adt (46) is to be the new head of Smart product at Daimler.

Adt has been with the company since 1999 and held various management positions in sales functions for Daimler until 2013, including worldwide sales management of Smart and, as Chief Executive Officer of the Luxembourg sales organisation, was responsible for the wholesale, retail and service functions for Mercedes-Benz Cars, Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Mercedes-Benz Buses.

She will take over as head of Smart in September.

Adt worked for one of the largest international human resources consultancies in 2013 and returned to Daimler in 2014 to head human resources there as vice president, responsible for personnel development, qualification, support for top management, the Germany-wide HR shared service organisation and the new Leadership 2020 management culture.

Mercedes-Benz Cars sales chief Britta Seeger said: "Adt has years of international experience. With her experience in various management positions in sales and marketing and Leadership 2020, she will steer Smart into a successful future."

Adt succeeds Annette Winkler (58), who, as previously reported, will step down after eight years on 30 September, 2018. She will join the supervisory board of Mercedes-Benz South Africa on 1 January, 2019.
