New Zealand's Motor Industry Association is expecting another record year of new vehicle sales after November volume rose 4% and the year to date tally 5.3%.  Automakers must compete with an unlimited supply of used vehicle imports that tend to match new vehicle sales by monthly volume.

November sales reached 11,620 vehicles, a record for the month, while YTD sales totalled 123,816.

Toyota remained the overall market leader for the month of November with 22% market share (2,613 vehicles), followed by General Motors' Holden with 11% (1,288 vehicles) and Ford also with 11% market share (1,261 vehicles).  Year to date Toyota, Holden, Ford, Mazda and Hyundai respectively remained the top five overall market leaders.

Toyota also remained the market leader for passenger vehicles with 21% share (1,712 vehicles), followed by Holden with 12% (998 vehicles) and Mazda with 9% market share (737 vehicles).  The trio also led YTD.  Toyota Corolla's was the top selling passenger model last month (652 vehicles) followed by the Highlander (295 vehicles), the Holden Captiva (291 vehicles) and the Mazda CX-5 (241 vehicles).
