Audi expects to achieve its target of delivering about 900,000 vehicles in 2009 despite tough market conditions, the Volkswagen group unit said on Friday.

Global sales reached 705,300 cars from January to the end of September, down 7.5%, after sales in September alone slipped 6.8% to around 88,600 vehicles, Audi told Reuters.

Rival BMW saw September group vehicle sales edge up 0.7% while Mercedes-Benz Cars division volume fell 7%.
