The global automotive industry experienced a 67% rise in company filings mentions of future of work in Q2 2023 compared with the previous quarter, with the highest share accounted for by Tata Motors with 325% year-on-year increase, according to GlobalData’s analysis of over 199 automotive company filings. Notably, future of work was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q2 2023, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of niche tourism and hydrogen, according to GlobalData.
Of the top leading companies in the automotive industry, Tata Motors had the greatest increase in references for future of work in Q2 2023, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified 34 future of work-related sentences in the company's filings - 0.2% of all sentences - and an increase of 300% in Q2 2023 compared with Q2 2022. Continental’s mentions of future of work rose by 800% to 9 and General Motors’s by 100% to 6 and Magna International’s by 500% to 6 and Tesla’s by 300% to 4.
GlobalData’s Company Filings Analytics also applies sentiment weight to reference sentences, based on whether the sentences are positive, negative, or neutral. Starting at 100 in 2020, an index over 100 is more positive. The overall index for future of work in Q2 2023 was 106.
