Kia sows a new Ceed in Europe

Kia Motors (UK) insiders like to stress the importance of the Ceed C-segment model line (originally named c'eed for reasons which escaped me). It was the automaker's first European built model - followed closely by the second  generation Sportage - but it's not the brand's top seller though it's nonetheless still significant in volume terms, accounting for about 12% of the UK unit's sales, while the also-Slovak-built-for-Europe Sportage eclipses the entire range with a 40% slice.

INTERVIEW: Michelin winter tyres Europe

Pierre-Edouard Sorel joined Michelin in 2005. He started as a sales representative in France in trade marketing. At the end of 2007, he headed the market intelligence department of Michelin's Earthmover tyres product line and has been marketing manager for winter tyres in Europe since 2011. Sorel talked to Simon Warburton about legislation, labelling and the dealer benefits of winter tyre usage.

Shell has just announced it is to build the world's first floating liquefied natural gas facility (FLNG) 200km off North-West Australia's coast. As well as that mammoth project, the energy giant is also heavily involved with the huge gas potential in Qatar with the Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) project - the world's largest GTL plant. Shell downstream director Mark Williams outlined some of his alternative fuels and transport thinking at the recent Challenge Bibendum sustainable mobility event in Berlin.
