Changan looks to the future after PSA and Ford woes

Getting involved with Groupe PSA led to tough times for Changan Auto. So far this year fewer than 1,300 examples of the DS models made at the CAPSA plant have been sold. That factory has an annual capacity of 300,000 vehicles. Changan Ford also continues to greatly disappoint. By contrast, demand for Changan's own models is brisk, helping to offset the significant losses being sustained by the JVs.


Lincoln future models for China and North America

In the USA, Lincoln (78,849) is neck and neck with Volvo (77,432), both brands ending the first three quarters of 2019 with rising sales, albeit neither able to yet compete with the big-volume premium makes. Ford has made good on its promise to invest in the luxury brand and there is much more to come in terms of new and additional models. With just 11,618 vehicles sold in Q3, China is still a tiny market for Lincoln though, making local production of several models all the more essential.
