Given that the plans for multiple models and a bespoke W12 engine were not backed up by a rock solid balance sheet, this was the right decision. Ferrari Portofino will replace California T

The successor for what started life in 2008 as the F149 California before changing names to California T in 2014 has been named. The new Ferrari Portofino is a 2+2 coupé-convertible, powered by a 441kW (600cv) turbocharged V8.


Future model blitz from BMW for Frankfurt IAA

A BMW insider has confirmed to just-auto that the company will use the showcase of the Frankfurt IAA in September to commence its fightback against Mercedes-Benz and Audi. There will be "multiple" world premieres and that will include the M5 and X2 as well as a concept version of the X7.

All the world premieres from the 2017 North American International Auto Show are listed below. The most important models this year were of course the ninth generation Toyota Camry, which will also be the first vehicle using the (TN)GA-K architecture to be manufactured in the US; and the updated Ford F-150 which gains fresh engines, including a diesel.


2016 Paris motor show - premieres list

The Audi Q5, Citroën C3, Hyundai i30, Kia Rio, Land Rover Discovery, Nissan Micra, Peugeots 3008 & 5008, Porsche Panamera, Renault Alaskan and Škoda Kodiaq were the most important production models at the 2016 Paris motor show. As for design studies and prototypes, the BMW Concept X2, Generation EQ SUV from Daimler, Lexus UX, Renault Trezor and Volkswagen I.D. were the main show stoppers. Surprisingly, the BMW 5 Series, Infiniti QX50 and a mid-life facelift for the VW Golf did not appear.

TOKYO SHOW: Lexus reveals fuel cell LF-FC prototype

The Lexus LF-FC, a 5.3m long concept, has been revealed at the Tokyo show. It not only provides a preview of the next long-wheelbase Lexus LS but a potential hydrogen-fuelled variant for later in the decade.
