Audi Q2 L & Q2 L e-tron facelifts: the standard wheelbase model has just been updated so now it’s the turn of the Chinese market’s longer models.

Bugatti Bolide: the track-only hypercar has the most powerful version yet of the marque’s quad-turbos W16.

Buick GL6 Mild Hybrid: what GM China terms the ‘2021’ model gains a 120 kW and 230 Nm 1.3-litre engine, while this MPV’s interior is updated too.

BYD D1: this is a 4,390 mm long electric MPV/minivan which has conventional doors on the driver’s side but the rear passenger side door slides.

BYD Qin Plus: the replacement for the Qin, which dates to late 2013, is this 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid sedan.

Changan Uni-K: exhibited in September at the Beijing show as the Vision-V concept, this is the production model.

GAC Empower concept: also called EMPOW55, this sedan heralds a production model which will use GAC’s existing GPMA (Global Platform Modular Architecture).

GAC Mocha concept: could exterior screens become a thing? GAC revealed this small car which has two large displays where a grille would be.

GAC NE Aion Y concept: five-door electric crossover which should be launched in production form next year.

GAC Honda EA6: as with the very closely related GAC Toyota IA5, the 4.8 m long EV is based on the GAC Aion S and has a 135 kW motor.

Hycan Ar18 concept: preview of a likely second EV to supplement the 007, a high-priced electric crossover which went on sale in China in April.

Hyundai Mistra & Mistra EV: Beijing-Hyundai announced these 4.8 m long sedans in August but did not reveal them so Auto Guangzhou is the public premiere.

Hyundai Tucson L: public premiere for Beijing Hyundai’s locally manufactured new generation model, which offers the choice of 1.5- and 2.0-litre turbo engines.

Jeep Compass facelift: the brand could do with some help to invigorate Chinese market sales which is why this was the arena for the world debut.

Kia Sportage Ace: this special Sportage for China is a different body on a former Hyundai ix35/Tucson. It dates to 2018 and now comes a dramatic restyle and the ‘Ace’ suffix.

Leap Motor C11: an electric SUV powered by a 160 kW motor, the C11 is based on the C-More, a concept from the 2019 edition of AutoShanghai.

MG 5: this is to be a 4,675 mm long sedan powered by 1.5-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines. Not to be confused with the 5 EV, which is an estate/wagon.

MG Linghang PHEV: the HS-based SUV premiered at the Beijing motor show in September; now comes the plug-in hybrid.

Roewe i5 facelift: this two-year old sedan version of the Ei5 has been hugely successful, Chinese market retail sales numbering some 150,000 units in 2019.

Roewe R-Aura concept: motor show and public premiere for this electric sedan design study which was revealed online in May.

Toyota Allion: a sedan with this name has been sold in its present generation since mid-2007 but mainly limited to Japan. FAW-Toyota will build China’s new model.
