The boffins at UCLA have developed a clear solar film that can generate electricity and is see through - so it could, theoretically, be added to windows. There are obviously lots of potential applications, including cars. It will be interesting to see whether this actually develops into something that can be commercialised and, if so, where the applications may be. Certainly sounds clever.
