It happens every now and then doesn't it? You see or hear something and are taken aback by what looks like a staggering lapse of good judgement.
The JWT 'ad' for the Ford Figo in India is pretty staggering, to say the least. The wayward Silvio Berlusconi perhaps deserves to be lampooned, but there have been some shocking issues in India lately regarding attitudes to women that make this 'joke' especially insensitive. How can that happen in a big company like JWT? Whatever the explanation, this is quite a howler for a company that is in the business of delivering high-value public image campaigns. As the old saying has it: what were they thinking?
