Glenn Brooks | 30 April 2014

Volvo Cars is moving forward with its testing of self-driving cars in its home city of Gothenburg. Prototypes are on the roads now, and these will be followed by 100 customer cars in 2017.

This video, shot last December, shows how the first cars can already handle lane following, speed adaption and merging traffic by themselves.

‘Drive Me – Self-driving cars for sustainable mobility’ is a joint initiative between Volvo Car Group, the Swedish Transport Administration, the Swedish Transport Agency, Lindholmen Science Park and the City of Gothenburg. The Swedish Government is endorsing the project.
