Blog: Volvo is kind to cyclists and idiots

Volvo Cars is once again illustrating that safety is at the core of its values, this time with a new system that induces auto brake when a cyclist veers in front of your car and collision is imminent.
It is very laudable, an enhancement of the system that stops you squashing pedestrians. There's a short video clip that illustrates how it works and one of the problems with road safety: people can be idiots. That said, you don't want to run over the idiot who is cycling along in a world of their own, a danger to others as well as themselves, and completely oblivious to what is going on around them. Do you?
