Mitsubishi Motors looks to be up a creek and without a paddle now that DaimlerChrysler's board has said it won't inject fresh capital. And it's a slap in the face for Jurgen Schrempp, without a doubt. But untangling MMC from DC, if that's what it will ultimately mean, presents a number of issues regarding shared activities.
BBC World were in touch earlier today asking me to go down to Television Centre in London to be interviewed on the subject. For once, I could have done it. I'm heading up to London later this afternoon for a meeting, so I could have done it on the way. But by the time I got back to the Beeb, they'd already filled the slot with Steve Cheetham of Sanford Bernstein. Oh well, that's how it goes.
They offered me the chance to do something later tonight - say around 9:00 pm. That, I'm afraid, has to be a no-no. Negative, Houston. It's a beautiful spring day here - warm and sunny - and I've had a busy week. I confidently predict that I will be heavily into unwind mode by the early evening. Whatever you're up to, have a good weekend.
