There has been a surfeit of stories in the media lately about the near-future possibility of being able to talk to your car. But it's simple stuff. Pre-set commands only. We're not quite getting close to the ever so slightly camp Kit from Knight Rider. I gather though that some people at IBM are looking a little bit further ahead to systems that enable a more ambitious and 'intelligent' two-way discussion. I can see it now. 'I said left at the junction.' 'You most certainly did not.' 'Yes, I did.' 'No, you didn't.'
