The revered news gatherer and respected broadcaster that is the BBC is reporting that US rapper Sean 'P Diddy' Combs is dropping the 'P' in his name. Apparently it's a little confusing. The man explained to the New York Post (the original source of the news): "I even started to confuse myself - and when I'd called someone on the telephone it took me a long time to explain who I was. Too long. One word. Five letters. Period." Glad that's straightened out.
Yes, it's the 'silly season'. The annual summer period of news doldrums is upon us, with half the world on vacation and the other half snookered because the person they need to talk to or get to sign something off is away. In the auto industry it is pretty quiet, though the build-up to Frankfurt next month is gathering pace (I spent longer than I would have liked trying to find an available hotel room yesterday - yes, I've left it late again).
But as silly season stories go, I loved this one (below link). Maybe a safari park is not quite the ideal place to take your Smart car.
I'm starting to get a small idea of the scale of things here in China, but really, I'm only scratching the surface of this vast country....
