Blog: Dave LeggettRevising forecast volume numbers

Dave Leggett | 12 January 2009

Up and down this industry, many people are pouring over spreadsheets and company top-line revenue projections. They are also giving much thought to how the outlook for overall market volume is changing. It's certainly a very different outlook picture now from the view that might have prevailed as recently as September.

We've decided that the OE market volume numbers in our published component sector research reports were due an initial revamp to take acccount of recent market turmoil and a significantly more depressed outllook across the board. They are being revised accordingly.

Our partner JD Power Automotive Forecasting is assisting us with that process and we are using JD Power's very latest numbers to power our revisions to OE component volumes. Going forward, we'll be playing very close attention to our forecast numbers and also presenting best-case and worst-case scenarios if appropriate.

Just thought I'd let you know about that.
