Thunderbird concept was revealed in 2001
Say what you like, I was a huge fan of Ford's revived, mid-noughties Thunderbird and even got a chance to drive one.
The Blue Oval's UK unit imported a car 'for evaluation' and we got to have A Go one year at the SMMT Test Day in Millbrook. Canary yellow with black trim it was, if memory serves.
Anyway, the original 2001 show concept is now up for grabs alongside a delectable 2005 Ford Shelby GR-1, the pair having been not ungenerously donated by Ford to charity.
According to Edmunds' Inside Line, the Thunderbird concept is expected to fetch US$125,000-$175,000, while the Shelby GR-1 should bring $150,000-$200,000. The proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
