Blog: Premium Power (weekend reading)
Dave Leggett | 28 October 2005
A book has landed on my desk that looks like it might be a very good read: Premium Power (The Secret of Success of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche and Audi) by Philipp G. Rosengarten and Christoph B. Stuermer.
The authors are automotive industry analysts at Global Insight, once known as DRI. Fair play to them both for finding the time to write a book as well as perform their day job duties.
There are some pretty decent looking testimonials on the sleeve too, including Porsche’s Wiedeking and Hubbert of Mercedes-Benz. For a book with this subject matter, testimonials don’t get much better than that.
I’ll try and read the book over the weekend (and say something about it next week). It might be very good preparation for a media launch of the BMW M6 I am booked on next week. Should get me in the mood.
I used to work with Philipp Rosengarten at DRI’s Automotive Group and he always impressed with his conscientious and thoughtful approach to work when he was at his desk. Lateral thinker too. And at the end of the working day, he could also be a lot of fun in the bar with his infectious chuckling and absurdist sense of humour. I can see him now, doubled-up with laughter and barely able to speak, the rest of us wondering what was so funny. Go Rosie.
