A trip to Detroit is getting closer (flying Sunday - Northwest, out of London Gatwick) and things are starting to come together. Ford is kindly loaning me an Edge (it's a crossover) for the duration.
On Monday I'm interviewing GM's global engineering guy, Jim Queen, at the Cobo lunchtime. Later on Monday we'll (I'm with our sales director, Will Johnston) be seeing Ron Hesse and Michael DaMour of GlobalAutoIndustry.com. That meeting may well continue for a few glasses of beer afterwards. Ron is currently tasked with finding a suitable venue for that.
A visit to some weather websites suggests that spring is coming late to Detroit this year. It's sunny and unseasonably warm here in England, but still rather chilly in Michigan. Note to self: don't pack shorts.
I'm starting to get a small idea of the scale of things here in China, but really, I'm only scratching the surface of this vast country....
