Brand image and how it evolves is something that fascinates me. Land Rover is an interesting case in point. On one hand, there’s the classic, rugged and go-anywhere image of the utilitarian workhorse. And if you want that, the Land Rover Defender is still available. On the other hand, there’s the altogether more pampering appeal of the Range Rover, a luxury SUV.
We’ve published a feature today from Jesse Crosse that looks at the new Land Rover Freelander/LR2 compact SUV in the context of Land Rover’s changing image. There are some interesting observations and views on how the new model is configured and its market positioning.
