It's not every day that you can pick up the motoring supplement of a British daily newspaper and find something about Iran's auto industry. The Independent newspaper deserves a bit of credit for giving its readers something a little bit more cranial than the usual car reviews, road tests, consumer rants and used car recommendations (not that those things don't have a place in a newspaper - they do). 

I spoke to the Indy journalist recently about Iran's auto industry and it is a fascinating subject, I think. Despite the more tense political situation lately - in terms of Iran's relationship with the West anyway - it's a market and industry with very positive prospects.
