Looks like the folks at Hyundai are getting serious on investing in new models like the EF Sonata. R&D spending in the first quarter jumped to 58.5 billion won from 9.7 billion won a year ago and Hyundai appears hopeful that the investment in new models will pay off in terms of higher sales and a profit rebound later this year. North America and Europe are being targeted by the sound of things. More pressure for the Detroit Big Three.
