There are a number of reports - including one in the Financial Times - citing sources close to the action as saying that Slovakia - and not Poland - will get Hyundai's European vehicle manufacturing plant. There will apparently be an announcement tomorrow in Geneva (it is press day at the Geneva Motor Show). But it does also look as though the plant will be, initially at least, making Kia products for the European market. But Slovakia over Poland? I tipped Poland for all sorts of reasons, but maybe the incentives offered by the Slovaks were just too strong in the final analysis. There again, as someone once said, it's not over until the fat lady sings...
