I was talking to freelancer Ian Henry earlier. After a recent visit he declared himself to be very impressed with MG Rover's manufacturing set-up at Longbridge and is preparing an article for just-auto. He says the complexity of the variants they push down the assembly line and the way they can flex them is very impressive - there are few plants in Europe producing four platforms and more than a dozen basic variants. Good point. MG Rover still needs lower unit costs and newer models though.
