Blog: Dave Leggett'Go home, open windows, drink lots of liquids'

Dave Leggett | 15 August 2003

Today looks like being a strange day in parts of the US Northeast and Southeast Canada affected by a huge power cut (that's Brit-speak for outage). I guess like many people, I find the news hard to comprehend. How can a huge powercut like the one that has happened occur? And from what I hear in the news, a decent explanation is still being sought. I guess it'll be a 'snow day' in many parts. NYC's mayor has apparently advised its citizens to go home, open windows and drink lots of liquids. Sensible advice I feel. What will the impact on the auto industry be - how much lost production? That should become clearer next week.
