Blog: Dave LeggettGM turning around

Dave Leggett | 14 March 2007

GM's 2006 results constitute more good news on the back of a better performance in the US marketplace. The Q4 profit is the first black ink in two years. It's nothing to get too excited about - plenty still to do - but who would begrudge GM's management a few smiles today? Only thing is, Toyota is far from standing still. No room for complacency or any slackening off in getting GM lean and with the right balance of products. It's a long haul and car brand perceptions in the general populace take a long, long time to change.

Does GM need the added distraction of having to absorb and fix Chrysler too?
