Blog: Getting out and about

It's a half-decent summer day here today, so I'm looking forward to getting out of the office later for a couple of meetings in London. I've been on the telephone at my desk most of today and I really want to stretch my legs. I actually do a fair amount of meeting up with people - industry contacts, other journalists, freelancers that we use on just-auto. Sometimes it's difficult to fit it in, but if you don't get out and talk to people, you lose track of what's going on, what people are up to, what the word on the street is.
But some days the prospect of getting out appeals more than others. And today is definitely in the 'I want to get some fresh air' category. Tomorrow will be the other extreme as I have a whole load of numbers in a spreadsheet to analyse (the annual Global Car Sales Forecast report that I do). Rough with the smooth I suppose.
I'm starting to get a small idea of the scale of things here in China, but really, I'm only scratching the surface of this vast country....
