Our use of energy presents something of a conundrum in terms of how we, as a society, approach overall usage.

In the transportation sector, as we know, things are not always as straightforward as they might appear (for example with 'coal fired' zero emission vehicles...).

I caught this article that sums up some of the energy policy dilemmas being argued over in Germany right now. Good summary. Wind turbines are a lovely idea, naturally, but may come with the need for some pretty big pylons and electricity transmission infrastructure - and wind power needs windy weather, too. Those mega-pylons are perhaps a tad unsightly. Oh, I see, you'd rather have a nuclear plant out of sight and out of mind after all...
