I wonder which Detroit 'visionary' read Freakonomics and thought it might be an idea to get the authors in for a chat? I think I know who it could have been. Must have been quite a session. 'How can we cut and dice the data to really see what's going on?' 'Where is causality?' At least they should have offered a fresh and intelligent perspective from outside the industry and sometimes that's well worth having.
And if you haven't read Freakonomics yet, I recommend it.
