Bill Cawthon - just-auto's US correspondent - has written with news that Ford's behemoth SUVs went down well in the US market in April.
In Bill's words:

Let oil prices decline and Americans are drawn back to big SUVs like moths to a flame: Ford reports sales of the Expedition and Navigator are way up from last year as the company reported a record month for SUV sales. Overall, Ford sales are still down slightly.

GM also reported improved sales of the big 'uns, especially higher-end models like the Escalade and GMC Yukon.
