Them were the days. To celebrate its millionth Cortina destined for overseas, Ford shipped the model to its owner in Belgium, by, er helicopter.
That looks like an ancient Wessex hoisting the vehicle over Ford's Dagenham plant and the picture is from the time when cars had proper names.
Ford especially seemed to like mountain ranges - Cortina and Sierra for example. Will today's models have quite the same resonance in 20 years time?
