Just received a circular informing me that Andy Egglestone is joining data firm RL Polk as President of its European operations. He'll certainly have his hands full integrating Polk's different operations in Europe. Saw him give a slick presentation on Ford's consumer connect stuff at a conference during his Ford days. That was probably in 2000. How things have changed at Ford since then. One thing I would advise Andy to do is to take a good long hard look at Polk's Essen-based forecasting unit, Marketing Systems. Lots of potential to do more there I think. But, dare I say it, some radical changes may be needed.
