Blog: Chinese invade Colombia

As we have already pointed out in our analysis pieces, the Chinese manufacturers are taking a reality check on plans to develop large-scale exports to North America and Western Europe. Caution is the byword now. But that's not stopping them on exporting to 'softer' markets around the world. And if individual markets are small, they nevertheless all add up in volume terms.
A good example is Colombia where the Chinese are developing a presence. Good to see that our man in Bogota, Juan Vargas, is still filing some interesting snippets from there.
I'm starting to get a small idea of the scale of things here in China, but really, I'm only scratching the surface of this vast country....
