We have had a pretty mild winter here in England. In places, the daffodils are out already. But we could get some cold weather yet and I see that in the US, Punxsutawney Phil has said he thinks the US will endure six more weeks of winter. Can we possibly get the smart little guy to offer an opinion global warming and climate change, too...

Over in China it's been exceptionally cold and the consequences there have been no laughing matter. There has been some disruption for automotive firms, but that pales into insignificance against some of the tragic events on the roads over there (even in fine weather there is plenty of carnage). Here's a hairy account from one traveller on the roads in China that gives a flavour. Some pretty scary looking pics. Sounds truly terrible.
