As a Chinese vehicle maker, how do you dip your toes into Europe and test the water? One approach is to get into Russia where standards are not so tight. Chery, on the other hand, is getting into Turkey and that's an interesting strategy because if it can make vehicles there it can sell them duty-free into the EU. And it can also sell into the growing Turkish market of course. I've been reading about Turkey's automotive industry in our latest management briefing. It's a neat summary of the basics of the place.
