Who's the daddy?
I did a presentation to a Bosch sales group last year and was asked by one of the audience: 'what do you think of Bosch, what does the name 'Bosch' say to you?' It was a question I hadn't exactly anticipated and I started to ramble about German engineering values, Bosch's reputation for high-tech innovations and so on (I should probably have started by saying something about power tools and dishwashers). I think I also said something about Bosch being a pretty large firm.
Pretty large eh? Bigger than Delphi now apparently and now top of the global automotive components league in 2004 reported revenue terms. I wonder how much of Bosch's overtaking of Delphi though is down to exchange rate effects caused by the weak dollar?
I'm starting to get a small idea of the scale of things here in China, but really, I'm only scratching the surface of this vast country....
