Ian Fleming's British secret agent James Bond in a Fiat Panda? I think not. At least not as his main car. Maybe the two black Pandas are for baddies. Or some sort of special op. I'd have thought that agent 007 will be in an Aston Martin once again. A Fiat Panda - great little car though it is - wouldn't quite cut it would it? But how has Fiat got a slice of the action? I thought the Bond filmakers usually went with one vehicle manufacturer exclusively on product placement. Bond in a Maserati?
Tell you what though: in Bond movie terms, nothing will top the original Aston Martin DB5 (complete with ejector seat faithfully recreated on Dinky and Matchbox models that I recall in my childhood) - a beautifully apposite car for a British secret agent. And the Lotus Esprit that turns into a submarine in The Spy Who Loved Me takes some beating too.
I'm starting to get a small idea of the scale of things here in China, but really, I'm only scratching the surface of this vast country....
