Blog: Dave LeggettBMW 1 Series Coupe

Dave Leggett | 26 October 2007

I'm being let out next week. There's an 'international media launch' event for the BMW 1 Series that involves a trip to Copenhagen (hotel where we are staying and hearing presentations certainly looks ultra-modern) and a futher short hop to a track - Gotlandring - in Gotland, Sweden, on Tuesday to try the car out for size. I was told the event would be hosted by board member Michael Ganal who has recently taken over as CFO at the group (chess players will appreciate this one - the swap in responsibilities with Krause was described as a 'castling' move).

The 1 Series Coupe is an interesting one. I'm not a big fan of the styling on the regular 1 Series, but the Coupe does look good. Most of the people I have spoken to who saw it in Frankfurt agree that it is easy on the eye. Is it something that will go down particularly well in America?
