Blog: BMW 1 Series Coupe

I'm being let out next week. There's an 'international media launch' event for the BMW 1 Series that involves a trip to Copenhagen (hotel where we are staying and hearing presentations certainly looks ultra-modern) and a futher short hop to a track - Gotlandring - in Gotland, Sweden, on Tuesday to try the car out for size. I was told the event would be hosted by board member Michael Ganal who has recently taken over as CFO at the group (chess players will appreciate this one - the swap in responsibilities with Krause was described as a 'castling' move).
The 1 Series Coupe is an interesting one. I'm not a big fan of the styling on the regular 1 Series, but the Coupe does look good. Most of the people I have spoken to who saw it in Frankfurt agree that it is easy on the eye. Is it something that will go down particularly well in America?
I'm starting to get a small idea of the scale of things here in China, but really, I'm only scratching the surface of this vast country....
