Blog: Dave LeggettBio-ethanol fuel and Le Mans

Dave Leggett | 21 May 2003

Ian Wagstaff has been in touch and will be working on a feature next month that looks at the use of bio-ethanol fuel by one of the entrants at this year's Le Mans - Nasamax. It seems that the Le Mans involvement is an attempt to prove that a sustainable bio-ethanol fuel can be used even in the 'hot house' conditions of a 24 hour race. Nasamax has worked with Cosworth Racing to develop a 2.65 litre V8 turbo-charged engine fuelled by bio-ethanol (made through the processing of waste vegetation materials). Look out for the Team Nasamax entry.
